Web pages on Islam

This website is a good resource with emphasis on practical activities to prevent the spread of Shari'a law in the United States.

This website hosted by Bill Warner (or French) is dedicated to the study of Islam in its political and ideological components.

Jihad Watch
This website, hosted by Robert Spencer is among the most reputable and reliable sources of Islam generally on the internet and of current events arising in the Islamic world and the conflict between the Western World and Islam.  It has daily updates and commentary and some good articles.

A website hosted dedicated to the challenge of Islam from an Orthodox Christian perspective.

islam: the Religion of Peace
General web site on Islam, with a particular emphasis on Islam's violent tendencies.  The subtitle of this website "(and a bid stack of dead bodies)" gives the picture of Islamic jihad and institutional intolerance and violence that are regrettably part of its Qur'anic lifeblood.

Blogs on Islam

This blog hosted by an Orthodox Christian who calls himself Zosimas, is dedicated to the challenges posed by Islam against the West generally, and against Christianity in particular. He also hosts a web page, Facing Islam.

This blog is a very active clearinghouse of current affairs relating to Islam, including videos, news articles, etc. Be forewarned, however, there is little editorial self-censorship, and so not only are comments rather vulgar and perhaps even a little over-the-top and gratuitous, some of the content (whether beheadings or the results of Islamic violence) is extremely graphic. There are, however, warnings that accompany the particularly brutal postings. You will be introduced to Islam at its rawest here. One thing we give the sponsor: he calls a spade a spade, and--refreshingly--he has never heard of such a thing as political correctness.

Qur'an-related sites

A Chronological Qur'an
Many are unaware that the chapters (surahs) of the traditional Qur'an are not in chronological order, but are in order of diminishing length, so that the longer surahs come before the shorther surahs without regard to chronology.  Because of the clear divergence between Muhammad's Meccan verses and his Medinan verses, and because of the Islamic doctrine of abrogation which includes abrogating verses [naskh (النَّسْــخ)] and abrogated verses [mansukh (المنسوخ)]. This blog contains the Qur'an in chronological sequence.

Index of Qur'an
Prepared by Peter Friedman, this index is a useful, albeit limited tool to direct the reader of the Qur'an to specific verses.  It is not a concordance by any means, but is is a good source nevertheless.

Hadith-related sites

Center for Muslim -Jewish Engagement
